Privacy Policy
Speakly Mail is an email and calendar client for iPhone. This policy explains what information the app accesses, why it is needed, where it is processed, and the controls available to you.
Information you choose to connect
When you connect a Google or Microsoft account, Speakly Mail requests the permissions shown on the provider consent screen for mail, contacts, profile information, and calendar features. These permissions let the app read messages and events, update mailbox state, send mail, and create or edit calendar events.
How information is used
- Mail and calendar content is used to display your inbox, conversations, contacts, and events and to perform actions you request.
- Daily Brief and message analysis are generated on your iPhone. Speakly Mail does not use your Google user data to train general-purpose AI models or for advertising.
- Account profile data, such as your email address, display name, and profile image, is used to identify connected accounts inside the app.
- Optional instant mail alerts require a device identifier, APNs token, account email address, and provider refresh token. The refresh token is encrypted at rest on Google Cloud. The notification service uses Gmail watch and history to detect new messages, retrieves the sender, subject, and message identifier, and sends those details through Apple Push Notification service to your device. It does not fetch or store the message body for alerts.
Storage and retention
Mailbox content used by the app is stored locally on your device. If you enable instant mail alerts, the relay stores your encrypted provider refresh token, account address, Gmail watch state, and device registration in Google Cloud Firestore. It processes sender and subject to deliver an alert but does not retain them in the linked-account record. Event deduplication records expire after seven days. Disconnecting an account removes its relay account record and stored refresh token when no device remains linked to that account. A device registration may remain for other linked accounts or future alerts; contact us to request deletion of remaining server-side registration data. Provider permissions can also be revoked from your Google or Microsoft account settings.
Sharing and transfers
Speakly Mail does not sell Google user data. Information is shared only with service providers needed to deliver the features you request, including Google or Microsoft APIs, Apple Push Notification service, Google Cloud infrastructure, and Apple platform services. Data is not transferred to advertising platforms or data brokers.
Security
Speakly Mail uses provider OAuth, HTTPS in transit, iOS Keychain storage for local credentials, and encryption for provider refresh tokens stored by the optional notification service. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but access is limited to the purposes described here.
Your choices
You can disable optional notifications, disconnect an account, or revoke access from your provider at any time. To request deletion of server-side linked-account data or ask a privacy question, email speakly.translator@gmail.com.
Google API data
Speakly Mail's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Children
Speakly Mail is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app changes. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are published.
